Skills Training Courses Can Increase Your Income

The competition for jobs is at an all time high, and if my intuition is correct, it will become even more competitive within the next decade. Why?   

·          Growing numbers of population, living longer.  

·          Multi-culturalism. 

·          The need for multi-lingual professionals. 

·          Technological breakthroughs.  

·          Continued economic challenges. 

The equation however that applies to many people is this: 

Greater skills = greater income potential 

It is my personal belief that education should be ongoing and diversified.

Every year, I take a major training in something other than my primary profession. But I also take the time to make advancements in my professional status as well.

I’ve taken courses in management, executive training, real estate, stock market trading, language, website development and marketing, and more.   And these aren’t cheesy online courses that you pay $99 for, but training that last weeks and cost upwards of thousands of dollars.  

If you feel stagnant at your job, consider updating your skills before you consider jumping ship.

A tip: work with your employer to find out his/her needs and if they are compatible with your interest, ask to have them foot the bill for the training in exchange for a work commitment.   That way you both win. 

Perhaps you are returning to work after a maternity leave, or after a stint at motherhood. Today’s economic times and stock market drubbing have many retired workers searching for jobs. If you find yourself in this situation then you need to consider training courses.

Many would-be students must keep on working while they go back to school. However, with all of the online/at home study courses that are available it is easy to work it into your schedule.

Depending on what types of skills training you are looking at, you could complete a training course in as little as one week. If you are trying to get a degree such as an Associate or Bachelor's, this can be accomplished in an online course as well.

Find out, however, how potential employers feel about hiring someone with an online degree before committing to pursuing it! 

The internet/information technology field is a very good career  choice. I myself was two quarters away from a degree in it after already obtaining two degrees and starting my career.

Unfortunately, I did not have the insight then that I do now to have realized what it could have done.

However, with online learning you can update your knowledge base easily. You could earn your certificate in many areas of Microsoft training, with courses that would help you become a support technician or proficient in repairing computers.

If your company uses Microsoft applications there are a number of two and three day skills training courses that can provide you with this knowledge.

Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint are just some of the lessons you can study to become more proficient, and above all: valuable.
