But that was a day that a peon spent with Kings.
On the boat with the wealthy man was the Governor of the
State of Ohio and Dave Thomas, the founder of Wendy's. The
three men had their own private relationship together and all
had chunks of shares of Wendy's Corporation. And through his
own sheer persistence and genuine thoughtfulness and love of
people, a simple fireman was amongst giants and treated as an
insider.
This was more than just an entertaining story. This was a
profound lesson, and it still shakes me when I recall the
tale.
So what does it mean for you? What lesson(s) would you
t ake from this and how would you apply them?
So, why do people fail at networking? In
discussing this with my friend Barry, a sales team manager at a

laziness, carelessness, and lack of confront.
But from a purely deep rooted level of the psyche we know
that it comes down to internal conflict. People want results,
but they also want comfort. People want knowledge, power or
fame, but also tranquility. It's these conflicting emotions
that cause hesitation, self-sabotage, and a falling-short of
goals.
In short, people don't do the work that can net the big
fish!
