I got a job in 1999 because a guy in my profession was
leaving the profession to begin an internet start-up with his
brother and a friend on the east coast. It was a hush-hush
deal; he couldn’t talk about it out of fear someone might steal
the idea.
He was set to leave the area, put his house up for
sale and move to Boston to grab the ‘golden ring’ as he
put it.
Seven months later I saw him; he was employed as a rep
selling artificial limbs in doctor’s offices.
It bombed. No plan. No money. No golden
ring.
Unfortunately, his scenario is not
unusual.
Implementation Failure.
Most of the entrepreneurs of small business plans have
good ideas of planning, but their plans stick only to paper and
are never implemented. This is part of the entrepreneurial
“seizure” coined by Michael Gerber. A guy or girl in business
for themselves gets so caught up in working “in” the business
that they never work “on” the business — i.e. they never see
the plan through to completion, or modify it when
necessary.
Sometimes, these entrepreneurs have so many ideas,
that they get confused in sorting techniques in a proper manner
and fail to recognize which kind of technique is to be used
when so as to expand or improve sales. So, even if they dream
big, or aim high, their plans fall short.
To write a sensible but inspiring business plan and to
implement it efficiently is the most important requirement of
small enterprises. When writing a plan, it is important to take
safe but essential risks. There is also a necessity to do
market research as well as take inventory of your strengths as
well as weaknesses.
The plans, strategies, and tactics should be practical
and must hold validation, because it is not enough to dream
alone; the dream should also have a logical backup. Dream big,
but plan hard.

There”

With modern technology and the Internet growing in leaps and
bounds, it becomes simpler for the entrepreneurs to use
leverage at the click of the mouse. Whether it be for doing
market research, advertising, marketing, or selling, using the
internet is no longer an luxury for many small
businesses.
It’s a necessity.
